FOX BOX
Regular price $330.00
Amazing
Sits too high , 60 seat does not match 40 seat
Sub sits under 60side of seat and makes it sit too high and seat already damaged top of box .
It's a shame that you didn't contact us for tech support like the instruction sheet says to do if you have a problem. But who reads the instructions anyways.
There are a few common installation mistakes that people make that we could have helped you with.
I have this box in a 2017 Ram 2500. I bought it to replace another prefab box that rattled horribly. I was referred to Fox by a local stereo shop when looking for a new setup. I’m currently running a JL W3 with a Pioneer 5 channel amp and Alpine Type R components . What a difference! The install was easy and the sound is fantastic. This box is definitely worth the investment.
Very satisfied. This box made a big difference in sound. Using ct sounds tropo xl 12. Very happy with the sound and fits perfect
I had a box for one 12 before I purchased this one but it wouldn't fit under the rear seat.i installed the fox box the same day I got it and was extremely disappointed with how it sounds. My other box hit a lot harder than this one. I called the day after i bought it and asked what the return policy was and was told there was a 25% restocking fee. I would've been ok with that but since I screwed my speaker to the box, they would not take it back at all because of the screw holes. The box is definitely well built but didn't get as low and loud as I wanted. $350 is way more than I wanted to spend on an enclosure but the company's reputation made me thi k it would be worth it. I wasn't going to leave a review but they emailed me asking me to leave a review. My opinion on how to improve the box is make it where it goes across the whole back seat to get more internal volume and tune the port lower. I wish they would've just taken the box back
Sorry things didnt work out for you. I'm not sure what you were expecting? Bigger boxes make bigger bass. It sounds like you already had a huge box that took up the entire understeat space and it was still too big to fit! The sub box you purtchased is clearly advertised and shown as being just one side of the truck. We make a good sub box but we can't work magic and make the same sound from half the air volume. The intended purpose of this box is to get good bass and still leave the 40 side of the seat available for storage. If you are willing to go across the entire seat of the truck and want high output, get the dual 12 elite box.
As far as returns, I would hope you understand that we do not sell used products and once you put screw holes in it, we can not resell it since nobody else wants to get a sub box that is obviously used.
Highly recommend. It’s taking my zv.6 like a champ surprisingly.
This is my 3rd box from Fox Acoustics. Best prefab boxes out there. Went with the recommended Sundown E powered by and Audio Control 1.800 and this thing is a beast. If you’re on the fence, go for it.
I had been looking for a box that fit under my rear seat for close to a year. I’d tried a few custom solutions and had been working on something similar to the elite in my fab shop when a friend asked about “fox acoustics” for his truck. I checked out the site and almost immediately selected the elite box. 1.9 cu.ft per sub? My fibreglass wouldn’t get that! I made a couple inquiries through the site as to fitment, finding out my Orion XTRPro 12.4 wouldn’t fit. I settled on a couple similar DB Drive 12s thinking that it was a magnet diameter issue.
Lo and behold the day the box arrived I could see what the problem was, and it wasn’t depth. The Orion mounts into a squarish opening and the Elite box had a round opening. Oh well I said to myself as I fit the new DB Drive WDX12G2.4 subs. And alas, it turns out these babies are slightly wider than the standard opening that is provided. Not to be deterred, I routered out the required area. While I was hacking and slashing the perfect finish that Fox shipped to me, I added ports for the speaker wire connections and flanged machine screw receptacles to hold the subs in with. The mounting face is triple thickness of the MDF so while I was fitting the box up with this hardware, I decided to open up the mounting face a little to see if my XTRPros might be squeezed in. This old man was giddy as a schoolgirl when the sub just popped right into place! A bit of adjustment to my plan was in order and it took a day or so to get everything cut and installed properly.
There is a required 2-1/2” lift to install the box under the rear seat, and all the hardware was provided along with instructions. Buyer beware, this decimated the headroom in the rear. The headrests on either side touch the ceiling so this won’t be good for an adults spine to sit in for a long time. To my dismay, these were the only instructions that arrived with the box. Luckily the minor assembly required to get the box together wasn’t too hard to figure out. Also to note: buyer will have to drill or port the wires for the subs as none are pre-installed.
Pictures show both the DB Drive subs installed, and the current Orion ones. Some information for the interested, my system has twin Orion XTRPRO12.4 wired to 1 ohlm and powered with an Orion XTR5500.1Dz with a birth cert just shy of 6000WRMS. This is going to be carved down to 3000WRM in the future as it is hard to find a good mount after the seat lift. The box tune of 34htz matches well with the subs and with some care these babies play tones to 20htz and below. The impact from the bass above 40htz can take your breath away! I haven’t shattered a window yet, but the year isn’t over. Good clean sound from the ports and no hints of chuffing issues at any frequency. Bass heads take note though, these are not “windy” ports. No hair tricks without modifications.
Although I prefer the Orion subs, the WDX ones perform excellent as well and I would expect any decent sub that plays around 1.5-2.0 cu. ft for optimal box size will be impressive in this enclosure.
Well done Fox! Two enthusiastic thumbs up!
Box is great quality. Fast shipping. Little vague on the instructions. Was missing 2 back seat brackets but called and they shipped them asap. Box fit nice and snug. Seat does sit pretty high. But anyone up to 6’ should be ok in back seat. Sound is amazing and even better than the older fox box that I replaced. Running 2 Rockford Fosgate T112D4 @ 1 ohm on a Rockford Fosgate
T1500BDCP Amp. Love it.
First I'll say Fox Acoustics is the ONLY company we use for prefab under seat boxes at our shop. If you want some BIG bass this is the box to buy. Well built and sounds amazing. We used 4 Audio Dynamics 3000 Series 3008D2 8's with an Audio Dynamics SD2000.1 and it was a perfect match. This thing GETS DOWN. We did make a jig to open the mounting holes to accommodate these particular subs.
Installation was super easy. Box was well made and electrical connectors were easy to connect.
We typically tell people that the U-15 is the largest we reommned for that sub box. I'm not sure if it will hold up long term to the abuse that sub can dish out.
